This is a safer more humane method of tying horses and can be used in wash racks, tack areas, trailors, picket lines or just anywhere a horse needs to be tied. While allowing some pull-through of the horse's lead, the degree of hold can be regulated by one of several tying options from as little as a few pounds or as much as a few hundred pounds, depending on the horse or the situation. When the horse pulls hard enough , he can pull some slack in the lead rope which releases pressure and the source of pain and panic. This reduces the threat to the horse dramatically as well as allowing the horse to pull himself enough line to get up if he falls down. Comes complete with the Tie Ring, Shackle, Eye Bolt and Instructions. | | | Product Details: | | | Average Customer Rating:

Indispensable horse item!Sep 12, 2010

My horse occasionally panics in cross-ties, and after managing to slip his halter a couple times, he found that if he set back, he could get free. Buying a pair of Blocker Rings was well worth the investment. Now he might pull back a foot or two, then when the Blockers give, he calms down and quits pulling. Over the past year, I've gotten a bit complacent, and tied him in the wash rack without the Blockers, though I knew better. Sure enough, something caused him to spook and he set back against the hard tie and broke his nice leather halter and got loose. Never would have happened if I'd used the Blocker ring like I knew I should.
